About Tim
A warm, grounded relationship where you can be fully yourself.
I’m Tim Dodgson, a qualified person-centred counsellor offering face-to-face sessions in Lancaster and online counselling across the UK.

A little about me
Understanding what it means to carry responsibility.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent thirty years in policing. That experience gave me a deep appreciation of the pressures people can carry, particularly when they feel they must remain capable and composed for everyone else.
It also taught me that the story visible on the outside is rarely the whole story. In counselling, there is no expectation to perform, protect others or have everything worked out.
How I work
Person-centred counselling puts your experience at the heart of the work.
Empathy
I work to understand your world from your point of view, including the things that may be hard to say.
Acceptance
You are welcomed without judgement. There is no “right” way to feel or use your session.
Honesty
Our relationship is genuine, respectful and collaborative. You set the pace and direction.
Professional standards
Accountable, ethical practice.
I undertake regular supervision, work within professional ethical frameworks and continue to develop my practice.
